(from the Newark Advocate) The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital is looking to the Granville Studio of Visual Arts to expand its music and art therapy programs. JamesCare for Life, the branch of the hospital that provides support and therapy for cancer patients and their families, will partner with GSVA to offer music and art therapy classes in Granville.
"JamesCare for Life has decided to expand and join with another quality arts organization," said Annie Cacciato, co-founder of GSVA. The partnership will be called JamesCare for Life at GSVA." It will get started this fall.
The partnership was announced July 25 at a gathering at GSVA's studios on the Bryn Du Mansion property. Dr. Michael A. Caligiuri, CEO of the James, spoke at the event. Katy Will, program director for JamesCare for Life, said GSVA already has an established arts education program and a nice building. JamesCare for Life will send its art therapists there to work in collaboration with GSVA. "Our goal is to service Licking County," said Will. "We already service Franklin County."
